Some ayaat mentioned in the Khutbah by Imam Dr. Shaheed Coovadia for pondering:
O you who have believed, fear Allah as He should be feared and
do not die except as Muslims [in submission to Him]. (3:102)
Glory be to the One Who took His servant ˹Muḥammad˺ by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Farthest Mosque whose surroundings We have blessed, so that We may show him some of Our signs. Indeed, He alone is the All-Hearing, All-Seeing. (17:1)
Ibn Az-Zubair (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
"Offering prayer in my mosque (in Madinah) is better than one thousand prayers elsewhere, save for those offered prayer in al-Masjid al-Haram (in Makkah). And prayer offered in al-Masjid al-Haram is better than prayer offered in my mosque by one hundred prayers."
Related by Ahmad and Ibn Hibban graded it as Sahih.
