Maintaining Ties of Kinship
Abu Hurayra said:
“The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said, ‘Allah the Mighty and Exalted created the creatures. When He had finished with that, kinship arose. Allah said, “Stop”.’ It said, ‘This is the opportunity for one seeking refuge with You from being cut off.’ Allah said, ‘Are you not content that I should maintain connections with the one who maintains connections with you and that I should cut off the one who severs from you?’ It said, ‘Yes, indeed, my Lord.’ He said, ‘You have that.’” Then Abu Hurayra said, “If you wish, you can recite, ‘Would you then, if you were given the command, work corruption in the land and sever your ties of kinship?’” (47:22) (Authentic)
Now if you ˹hypocrites˺ turn away, perhaps you would then spread corruption throughout the land and sever your ˹ties of˺ kinship!
This hadeeth is evidence that kinship spoke in the real sense, by Allah’s leave, and that it gets angry and becomes pleased. It is also evidence that speech is from the Action-related Attributes of Allah the Mighty and Exalted. Severing the ties of kinship brings about Allah’s wrath on the offender - and with Allah is the refuge.
